Uploading an existing map to your server

I dont get it. im still new to FTP but i dont know how to do it

ok, i uploaded the world in my /, named the world [My server name] and then deleted the old world. now my server isnt working! i tried restarting, rebooting, stopping and staritng but its not working!!! what do i do to save my servers life!?!

Ok, I fixed the world problem, (its not doing the world i uploaded) but now i cant do commands at all! can a staff go into my server files and make the file called "world" my world for my server? and can you make the commands work again? Thx
