    Why suggest using a CNAME for the minecraft server? Surely A names using a 14400 TTP would be much better.

    I'm referring to your knowledge base.

    CNAME is for aliasing a domain name to a hostname. A is for aliasing a domain name to an IP address.

    Yes but, if you get the numerical IP for your server, by resolving, A name is a preferred choice.

    Both A and CNAME records are standard DNS records.

    By using a CNAME record, if the IP address of your HostHorde server changed, everything would still work properly and no changes would be required on your end.
