    Hi,

So unfortunately I'm moving from HostHorde to another host. The new host has said he can download all my server files using "wget -r ftp://username:password@host" or something like that. However, when he does it the connection times out and aborts.

He's tried it on 2 nodes, both have failed.

Any idea whats wrong? Also, he says its not his end...

    Thanks

40,000+ files... I have around 1mbps upload... it's going to take a while. And he's had no problems moving my website from another host and he's moved loads of other's servers before. I believe its just HostHorde.

If you make too many connections too quickly, you can run into issues, which might be happening if you have lots and lots of small files. Posting the exact error here would be helpful.

Sounds to me you're just a douch bag.

I've been with HostHorde since October 23rd 2013... the least they could do is help me.

Yeah, sounds like an issue with HostHorde blocking the connection from downloading files too quickly. HH probably has some badly configured ddos prevention software. Try getting HostHorde to zip your entire server so they only have to transfer a single .zip file

Thankfully I have managed to find a plugin which will compress the whole server into a zip file, which the host has downloaded.

Please note, that I have nothing against HostHorde, and I've loved their service. But I believe its time for me to expand my server and HostHorde isn't suited for my plans. Thank you.
